The route goes through the missing link, Capenhurst, Chester Gates, Saughall, the Greenway, Pipers Ash, Christleton, Barrowmore. Manley Mere to Cafe Fresh approx 24 miles to the lunch stop. The return route is via Thornton le Moors, along the A5117 to Cheshire Oaks, then along to the Boat Museum where there is an option to head for Ellesmere Port Station. or return to Hooton Station via Vauxhalls, where there is a short hill.
The total distance is approx 36 miles. There are a couple of short climbs in the Barrow and Dunham area but nothing too difficult.
