The ride is a Grade C ride of 21 miles out to Walters Cafe in Kinnerton and 19 miles back to Thornton Hough for a total of 40 miles.
The ride starts at Thornton Hough community hall and goes mostly downhill and flat for the first 10 miles through Neston and over the Marshes, Deeside Industrial Park and onto Shotton. It then crosses into Shotton Lane and over the next 4 miles climbs 434 ft. (which sounds high, but there are flat pieces along the way). At the top there is a 2-mile downhill stretch to lunch at Walters.
The return ride is a relatively flat course down the hill to Bretton over the Saltney Ferry bridge, with a slight climb going up through Blacon and Saughall before crossing the Welsh road, through the Chester Gates and then back to Capenhurst, Hooton and return to Thornton Hough.
