A moderately demanding ride with quite a bit of climbing – 50 miles, 2400 feet climb
From Capenhurst we drop down past Shotwick Dale and the industrial estate to the Greenway to cross Hawarden bridge. Climb up past the west of Wepre park and Northop Hall through Soughton and dropping down to cross the main road out of Mold. Quite a steep climb ( around 9 %) up to Gwernaffield, and carry on climbing up Nercwys mountain. From there we mostly drop down to Caergwrle, with lunch at Honey’s Bakery & Café (31 miles)
Back through Higher Kinnerton, crossing the Dee at Saltney, through Blacon and along the Greenway. Up to Saughall and beside the A494 back to Capenhurst
