The ride starts from outside West Kirby Station and goes out from West Kirby via Hoylake, Meols and Moreton to New Brighton, then down Egremont Promenade, through Tranmere, Rock Park and Bromborough to Eastham Ferry. with the final leg to the Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port at 28 miles. The return to West Kirby is via Little Sutton, Hooton station, Thornton Hough, Irby and Caldy, although people can bale out along the route home to catch a train at one of many Merseyrail stations along the way (at Ellesmere Port, Overpool, Little Sutton, Hooton, and Heswall).
